Kavita Gupta
Kavita joined The Chapman Firm with over fifteen years of experience managing complex litigation and transactional matters.
Kavita began her legal career practicing criminal law, then transitioned to advising clients in employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and business law. Kavita has represented municipal governments, state governments, and private companies in a wide range of matters such as: whistleblower defense, breach of contract, procurement, worker misclassification, intellectual property disputes, and regulatory misconduct. She has practiced international employment law and is experienced in issues unique to a foreign workforce.
Kavita’s most recent legal work includes acting as general counsel to small and medium sized companies, including liaising with investors and advising on risk mitigation strategies for high-growth business models. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and has experience crafting Data Protection policies and Incident Management Response Plans in the event of data breach.
On a personal note:
Kavita is a former figure skater who loves adventurous and novel experiences, so long as they don’t involve running. She collects cookbooks, occasionally cooks, and frequently goes on picnics with her two children, who are even busier than she is. Her ideal vacation spot is somewhere with mountains and without mosquitoes.
