New Water Infrastructure Project

North Texas and the Upper Trinity Water Regional Water District are set to construct the first new water supply reservoir in decades.  This article demonstrates the time required for planning, permitting, approval, construction, and use.  New water supply and reservoir construction is not a quick process.  Even with the passage of Prop 6 last November and the increased focus on water infrastructure and supply in Texas, an answer to our water needs is far off.  This article demonstrated the need for water supply authorities, municipalities, and other entities to work closely and quickly with the Texas Water Development Board to access the Prop 6 funds when they become available to help bring additional water resources to the citizens and businesses that will help Texas continue to thrive.
